Finding Confidence in Your Style

Hello lovely readers!  I hope you’re all having a great week.  Hopefully you haven’t all burned up in this ungodly summer heat.  Today, I thought I’d talk about how empowering style has become for me over the past few years, and how it can be for you too, with a fun summer inspired outfit.

Going on this journey through style, the past few years, has really helped me find myself and become more confident in who I am over all.

I find that what I wear can totally impact how I feel throughout the day.  If I’m wearing something I think I look great in, I feel like myself, and I feel confident.  I have learned to wear my favorite outfits on exam days or for interviews.

When I’m wearing something I’m excited about, I feel like I can conquer anything.  I embrace my flaws and feel overall more optimistic.  When I’m feeling confident in my outfit, I’m more willing to say yes to adventure!

I want you guys to feel this way too.  So keep reading for my tips on how to find confidence in your style.

Can’t get enough of my Armitron watch!

For this outfit, I decided to stay very true to my style.  I went for mostly classic black and white, with a pop of summery pink.  I like the classic combination of black and white, but for summer, I think a pop of color was necessary to make the look more summer-appropriate.  Summer is the time to be adventurous with color.

I paired a classic striped, sleeveless top with my go-to black skinnies as my outfit’s base.  For shoes, I chose my platform oxfords and a peachy-pink bomber for a bit of fun.  I’m seriously in love with this bomber right now.  Along with the color, it is also lightweight, so it’s the perfect summer jacket.

For the accessories, I went all out.  One of my favorite summer accessories has been the bandana neckscarf so I chose a black and white one.  The pattern of the bandana with the stripes is a great combo in my opinion.  A pair of vintage style shades, a feminine watch, and a Chloē bracelet from my Switch Box topped off the whole look.

Switch Box is actually a really cool company.  You pay a small amount per month and they send you an amazing piece of designer jewelry.  Then you send it back in order to receive your next piece(s) from your favorites list! This is a great concept in order to expand your accessory horizons without having to find space to store it or spend too much.

Here are some of the ways I’ve learned to be more confident through my style. They’re just little things, but for me, they make all the difference.

  • Wear something that you think accentuates your best features, whether that’s a blue top that brings out your eyes or a skirt that makes your legs look great.
  • Wear something fun! Add some color or an interesting pattern that you enjoy.
  • Stay true to your personal style.  You’ll feel so much more confident if your feel like yourself.
  • Give yourself a little bit more time to get ready in the morning.  Feeling rushed will not make you feel confident, so wake up a little bit earlier so you can take your time.

  1. Great post!!! I love your style…. I don’t know how that I can be confident in my style if I don’t even know what it is though, lol.A lot of times people put me in a box saying that I’m classic or girly, but I don’t really know what my style is so why should they? I don’t know. Could you do a post about FINDING your style? Thanks xo
