Sporty Chic

Hello everyone!  I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week.  This week I thought I ‘d share a couple of fun and comfy outfits.  As a student, I find that comfy outfits, that I can move in, have become increasingly part of my life.  As an art student, I spend less time sitting in a desk for a couple hours a day, and more time moving around all day.  So since it’s getting a little warmer, I decided to bring out a couple sporty, springy looks that are perfect for my  long days on the move.

My trusty, white converse are the core element for both of these looks.  They have served me so incredibly well when I’m on my feet all day.  Plus, I feel like they can go with nearly any outfit.  I’ve even been wearing them with more fancy outfits recently as a way to make them more casual. Also, both looks incorporate stripes because I always consider stripes to be both sporty and classic.

For my first look, I chose a pretty simple and easy look. This outfit follows my hero piece formula, so it was quick and easy to put together.  I chose this ribbed, striped top because I love the red stripe around the collar and it’s super comfy.  I added my go-to Urban Outfitter’s jeans (seriously these are the best high-waisted jeans ever. My only other recommendation is TopShop jeans).  I then threw on my navy bomber jacket from target (which is actually a guys’ jacket, but we won’t tell anyone shhh). I’ve been loving this jacket because it’s the perfect weight for spring.  With this mid-60 degree whether, I’ve been reaching for it a lot!  This bomber also adds a great sporty element to any outfit!

For my second sporty ensemble, I decided on this simple, striped dress.  I was going for a Zoey Deschanel in New Girl look (which is one of my all time favorite shows.  Seriously go watch it on Netflix).  Zoey is really good at wearing stripes in a really feminine way and I think this dress is the perfect combination of sporty and feminine.  The girly collar is nicely contradicted by the sporty stripes.  Also I thought the sporty shoes and the girly hair was a good combination.  I also chose to style my hair like this, so I could show off the adorable collar and the interesting zipper in the back!  I couldn’t bare to hide those lovely details.  The dress also has little structure and is a tshirt material so it is perfectly comfy.

If you guys would be interested in how I did this hairstyle, please comment! I’m considering doing a post about a few easy hairstyles.

Thank you for reading! I hope you have a great week and keep up with me throughout the week on Instagram. Please leave any requests or feedback. I love to hear from everyone!
